Today was a VERY special day. After 3.5 months of recovery, I finally went sailing! Paul kindly came along to be crew with Rob, so I could just sit at the helm. However I did get myself into the galley at afternoon tea time to make them a cup of tea each!
It was a magic day:-)
After leaving Busselton, we spied this magnificent Nyutsia by the road:-) Summer and Christmas are coming, and these brilliant trees always bring joy to my heart with what they herald – family times:-)
On the way home from the south west, Rob and I stopped into “The Goose” for morning tea. And saw this Grandpa taking his grandson for a ride in his gofer along by Busselton Jetty:-)
From the time we arrived on Sunday afternoon in the rain, until we had our last breakfast here this morning, this place has been a most delightful and healing retreat before heading back to Perth today to get ready for my next knee replacement operation.
Some of the gifts were the lovely reception hut, the sailing picture over our bed, and the little present in the fridge when we arrived.
Today, for the first time for 3 months, that’s 94 long, long days, I walked without any aides. Along the cliff tops at Kalbarri on a bright, warm, spring day.
It was really, really good:-)
I hope my next knee surgery takes less time to heal to this stage!
I can’t walk much, but I can drive the air compressor so that Rob can inflate our car tyres after our off-roading in sand at Murchison Station, then getting our punctured tyre repaired:-)
Today we did some serious off-roading in Rob’s X-man and discovered it’s limit. However we managed to get out OK with only a punctured tyre!
Today we drove from Jurien Bay to Kalbarri, stopping to enjoy the landscape and wild flowers at Coalseam Reserve. A special place:-)

long the way we passed a special picnic table. Looks ordinary doesn’t it? Except that it’s made from granite coloured red by the beautiful red earth here-abouts:-)
This morning Tristan, Blaine, Tom and Thea met us in Jurien Bay where we were staying, then we went exploring around Mt Leseuer National Park. Rob took the lovely panorama:-) And I took the wild vista
Today we piled all our gear into the X-man and drove up the coast to Jurien, spending some time amongst the Pinnacles. It is such a magic place!
