This morning Rob and I enjoyed our last breakfast at Zamia before my operation. Rob went for a bike ride then met me there after I’d enjoyed a short walk.
It’s a lovely way to start the day:-)

I wandered past the dining room this morning and spied this lovely sight – the jigsaw I’d bought Tom last summer was keeping the whole family busy!
Last night we sailed down to Woodman Point. This is as far as my fading knees will allow us to sail, but we wanted to make the most of the last weekend on “Dusky Dolphin” before my tonsils come out on the 12th May.
It was a magic sunset and lovely new moon. And this morning swallows came to visit on the lifelines just outside the galley window:-)
Today we sailed in “Dusky Dolphin” from Fremantle to Rockingham and stayed the night there, blessed with a lovely sunset. This will be our last sailing before Dusky Dolphin is hauled out for her annual maintenance next week. So Rob and I really, really made sure that we enjoyed it!
The photo of the light on the water has Mewstone in the distance – one of my favourite places around Cockburn Sound!
Disturbed by the ongoing troubles I am having with my failing knees, Dr Tom and Dr Thea decided to take things into their own hands tonight. They must have been listening to Rob talking about his work, because the first step was to inject an anaesthetic. I was instructed to stay asleep until they woke me up!
After 6 months, or is it 7, or even 8, our sky still remembers how to rain!
It’s not only the plants in our garden who are skipping about this morning:-)
Tonight Rob and I settled ourselves in the new Garden of Reflection in Kings Park to enjoy the sunset across the Swan River.
Rob also enjoyed playing with his new camera to capture the moment.
Magic!
This week Rob and I began to record the work that we had done since we moved back home to our post-storm-repaired house on 22nd October last year.
The bedroom was the one whose ceiling was “dropped” (demolished) first after the storm, and we took a photo of the ceiling-less room with wires hanging down and a pile of rubble at one end.
The stairway room is in the centre of the house. The hail smashed the roof window, so this room was filled with hail stones, smashed glass and LOTS of rain. It has taken a while to get this space back together!
The view through the dolphins looks into this central room from our lounge room.
It is soooo good getting it all back together, although differently from what it was before.
I’m not sure of the proper name, but I call these ducks “pretty ducks”. They LOVE all the lakes around Kings Park!
Today Tristan and Blaine brought Tom and Thea over to our place with some of their new clothes for winter. Since Tom was born I have been in the habit of going shopping with them twice a year to buy their clothes for the coming season. However my knees are none too good now, so I missed out this time.
Tom and Thea modelled their favourites from their new wardrobe:-)
