Early this morning, before Sam the builder arrived to demolish the old pergola, I took some photos. You can see how the frame is pulling apart now that the creeper is dead and no longer holding it together!

This pergola was built about 1975. It’s done well.

This morning, a beautiful clear spring morning, Rob walked and I gofered over to Zamia Cafe for breakfast. On the way Rob had to stop and take photos, and while I waited these scenes appeared before me – Thunderbird dinosaur statues and a magpie lark which was inspecting the grass around my gofer.

Tonight Rob and I sat at the top of the cliff at Mosman Park at sunset, Rob of course behind his camera, and drank in the beauty of this gift – a full moon rise over the river.

On the way to the rehab clinic today, the bright spring sunshine picked out the brilliant red in this magnificent Captain Cook bottle brush.

Wonderful!

This morning Rob and I took a long (2 hours) walk/gofer outing from home right round to the front of Kings Park. The wildflowers are all out now, as is the photo display of significant trees round Kings Park. So we went slowly to enjoy it and Rob of course had his trusty camera which kept him busy.

And there was one osprey on the nest. It’s mate must have gone AWOL or died, which is very sad. They did good work for quite a lot of years, making and bringing up babies in this nest.

We finished off with breakfast at Zamia, and of course Rob had to photograph the baby duckerlings in the lake – see pic.

It was a land-mark day for me because I walked in short spells (while Rob rested in the gofer) for a total of about 0.5 kilometre on my crutches, although I don’t lean on them heavily any more.

It was a lovely morning:-)

Rob kept very busy as the chief photographer at Thea’s 5th birthday party, with the theme “Farm”. During a break from photographing, Rob sat cowboy Tom on his lap to cuddle him, as he got over the hurts from a fall.

This morning, to celebrate a bright sunny day, Rob walked and I gofered to Zamia Cafe for breakfast. I had to chuckle when we left afterwards, to see my gofer in the illustrious company of a fancy road bike worthy of Rob drooling over it!

And in the garden was a delightful pair of silver princess flowers just out, one still with it’s little cap on (see the left-hand side of the left-hand flower).

Today 2 lovely ladies with a very special invitation – Blaine and Thea had made gorgeous invitations for a “Farm” party!!!

It’s taken a few days, but today I will complete the move from this nest with invalid chair in the family room, where I have been safe as I’ve got through the first 7 weeks of recovery from knee surgery, back to my desk in the study.

I’ll be back here in October after my next knee surgery!

Jeanette sent me a very sweet email today, titled “Exercise Progress”, after she took me to see my Mum in her new nursing home for the first time:
